A trauma-informed, resilience-oriented group for nervous system healing, empowerment, and connection.

with Miriam Chor Freitas, LCSW
Trauma-Informed Therapist | EMDR & Somatic Therapy

“We need to know that we are not alone in this imperfect journey of being human.”
— Arielle Schwartz, PhD

This resilience-oriented trauma support group helps survivors build strength, coping skills, and community in a safe, supportive environment. Rather than focusing on reliving the past, we emphasize empowerment, connection, and the development of emotional and nervous system resilience.

What You Will Gain from This Trauma Support Group

Participants will:

  • Learn practical tools such as mindfulness, grounding, and somatic regulation to calm the nervous system

  • Develop self-compassion and emotional regulation skills

  • Identify personal strengths and past coping strategies to build resilience

  • Understand how trauma affects the brain, body, and nervous system

  • Reduce shame and isolation by connecting with others who truly “get it”

  • Reclaim a sense of agency, empowerment, and hope for the future

Through guided practices, gentle skill-building, and supportive peer connection, members cultivate emotional stability and a deeper sense of safety within themselves.

A Resilience-Informed & Trauma-Informed Approach

This group is inspired by The Post-Traumatic Growth Guidebook by Arielle Schwartz, PhD, and integrates mind-body tools drawn from trauma-informed therapy, somatic practices, and nervous system healing.

We use the book as a supportive framework, offering:

  • Structured psychoeducation

  • Journaling and reflection

  • Experiential practices that foster self-trust and inner strength

The hero’s journey metaphor invites you to see yourself not as broken, but as courageous. Healing becomes a process of reclaiming your wholeness, wisdom, and capacity for growth.
