Maybe you thought that you had found the “right” one or maybe you were happy to explore your sexuality in different ways. You thought you had taken all the safe sex precautions that you were taught but you still got herpes and/or hpv?!?! You wondered… “How did this happen?” “Where they cheating on me?” You feel confused, scared, ashamed and afraid of telling anyone. You feel stigmatized. You will be the butt of the joke now. “The gifts that keeps on giving.” You isolate and wonder: “Will I ever find someone who will love and accept me with this?” You look at your body and you don’t recognize yourself anymore. You tell yourself that it will be okay but your mind keeps going over and over it and you feel paralyzed.

It does not have to be like that.

One in every 8 people between ages 14 and 49 have herpes in the United States today and 80% of sexually active adults have been exposed to HPV at some point in their lives (CDC statistics); yet, most people don’t even know they have it because the great majority of people don’t even experience any symptoms. Herpes and HPV don’t define you. They are usually very treatable health conditions that won’t keep you from having a healthy and fulfilling life…INCLUDING a love life!

Individual Therapy

I work with individuals who want to heal from the pain and suffering caused by their diagnosis and move forward with their lives. I offer them information about their diagnosis, support them through with the grief and loss process, tools to deal with the emotional distress, adjust to their new reality and re-evaluate themselves in a new light. Additional resources may be offered as needed.

Sometimes clients were already dealing with other problems such as anxiety and relationship difficulties that were negatively impacting their quality of life and making it much harder to cope adaptively with the news so we look into that too and design a case plan that addresses the problem in totality in order for client to achieve emotional balance, peace-of-mind and a fulfilling life.

I offer On-line and In-person Sessions.

How do I get started?

Schedule an individual 15-minute intake appointment to discuss whether individual therapy would be a good fit for you. This gives you an opportunity to ask more questions and it gives me an opportunity to learn more about you and your needs and decide if we want to schedule an intake appointment to further discuss your situation. If we decide that that is not the best course of action, perhaps I can provide referrals to other services available to you.

I do accept certain insurance plans and you will find further information about insurance coverage and payment on my FAQ’S page.
